Asian Games 2026

The Asian Games, Asia’s largest multi-sport event organized by the Olympic Council of Asia, is a unique platform for international exchange and cultural connection, as well as an opportunity to showcase diverse Asian sports. The Games, which are held every four years, are a combination of Olympic and regional disciplines, allowing spectators to experience sports such as kabaddi, sepak takraw, and cricket alongside more traditional Olympic events like athletics and swimming.

Japan’s hosting of the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya is the third time the country has done so, following Tokyo in 1958 and Hiroshima in 1994. With the Games returning to its original 4-year cycle, this upcoming edition will be an important moment for sports diplomacy in Asia and will further deepen sports’ role in strengthening global connections.
