The Masters leaderboard is a real-time snapshot of player rankings throughout the tournament. It helps golf fans stay up to date on who has a chance of winning, who’s making a move up or down and which players are outside the cut line.
Defending champion Scottie Scheffler made an impressive start at Augusta with a bogey-free 68 to take a one-shot lead over 2024 runner-up Ludvig Aberg and Canada’s Corey Conners. Conners hit 10 fairways and 11 greens in his round and had four birdies, including a huge par save at the historically troublesome 13th hole.
Aberg drained a 5-foot putt at the 18th for a par to tie with the leaders, while Conners lost two strokes with his second-round 76 and slipped down the leaderboard. But he’s still within striking distance of the green jacket and should improve in the third round.
Rory McIlroy fell out of contention after two dreadful holes on the back nine, but he’s still in the hunt. The world No. 4 is battling it out with Zach Johnson, Chris Kirk, Nicolai Hojgaard and Aaron Rai. McIlroy is tied for fourth with a 6-under 66 and needs to keep improving in order to win his first green jacket. If the tournament doesn’t produce a winner after the final 36 holes, a sudden-death playoff will begin on the 18th hole and then proceed to the adjacent 10th. The process is repeated until there is a single winner.
