After two rounds of play, there are 53 golfers left in contention for the green jacket at The Masters. Justin Rose remains atop the leaderboard after a second-round 71 at Augusta National Golf Club, while Bryson DeChambeau is nipping at his heels at 8 under.
This is one of those days that will go down in Masters history as a wild ride, and picking out the most significant shots is a near impossibility. However, there were a number of moments that stood out.
Rory McIlroy, No. 1, Tee Shot – The four-time major champion looked nervous on the first tee and that was evident in his approach. He overcooked the ball and was going to be in trouble, but he saved himself with a slick chip on the back of the green.
He had a great chance to go for eagle on the par-five 16th but came up short with his approach. It was a tough situation, but the way he hit the chip and put it within a foot was remarkable. It was a shot that pushed him closer to the top of the board and made it clear his head is in the right place for this tournament.
