Asian Games 2026

The latest news bulletin from the Organising Committee of Asian Games 2026 features a video clip and more on sport climbing, which made its debut at the 18th Asian Games in co-host city Palembang, Indonesia. Also introduced is the upcoming Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, which will be the third time Japan has hosted the continental multi-sport event following Tokyo 1958 and Hiroshima 1994.

The Asian Games is the biggest sporting event in Asia that brings together athletes from 45 countries and regions to foster friendship through sports, and contribute to world peace. The 20th Asian Games, to be held in Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya from September 19 to October 4, is scheduled to feature 40 sports with 15,000 athletes and team officials.

On the occasion of the next Asian Games, the Aichi-Nagoya Organising Committee is working hard to develop a comprehensive transportation plan that will ensure smooth movement of participants and spectators from all around the region. This includes developing a network of bus routes linking competition venues, and considering the use of shuttle buses if necessary. The Organising Committee is also aiming to make full use of existing infrastructure, such as the train system operated by JR (Tokaido Shinkansen, Chuo Main Line, Tokaido Station and others), Kintetsu Railway and Meitetsu Railway, and the Nagoya Municipal Subway with its six lines.

The Aichi-Nagoya Organizing Committee will continue to strive to ensure the Asian Games becomes a major international event that brings people of different nations and backgrounds together through sports. With the slogan “Imagine One Asia,” we will promote the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games as an opportunity for people to strengthen bonds across continents and cultures, and to deepen exchange within Asia.
