The Masters leaderboard shows the current standings in The Masters tournament at Augusta National Golf Club. It is one of the four men’s major championships in professional golf, and the first major to be played each year. The Masters is regarded as the most prestigious event in golf, and winners are awarded a green jacket. The Masters is played every April at Augusta National in Georgia.
A massive crowd is gathered at the first tee for the final round of The Masters, and Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau are in the final group together. It’s a brilliant morning at Augusta with clear blue skies and hardly any wind at all. It’s great for scoring and the majority of players have already broken par.
Both McIlroy and DeChambeau are hitting the ball superbly well. But their approach play is letting them down. It’s a huge factor at Augusta, and Jordan Spieth, Danny Willett and Tiger Woods are all recent Masters champions who were best in strokes gained – approach.
At the par-five 3rd, McIlroy hammers a drive down the right side of the fairway and then has a good second shot that goes just over the green. He then has a tricky putt for birdie but makes it to take the lead by a shot.
Bryson DeChambeau is also playing fantastically but his approaches are letting him down. He is top of the field in that category but he needs to improve if he wants to win his first Masters.
